Client: Rogers Communications
Location: Brampton, ON
Completion: June 2024
Overview:
ANET executed a comprehensive electrical overhaul at Rogers Communications’ Brampton data center located at 8200 Dixie Rd, Brampton, completed in June 2024. The scope included design validation, field surveys to confirm existing site conditions, procurement of high-capacity transformers, custom switchgear, distribution panels, and LED lighting systems. Our team coordinated ordering and staging of specialized transformer units and panel boards, followed by demolition of legacy equipment and construction of new steel-framed electrical rooms. Work further involved conduit routing, cable tray installation, and precision wiring of critical power and emergency lighting circuits required to support mission-critical data operations.
All cutover activities were meticulously planned during off-peak windows to ensure uninterrupted data center operations throughout the upgrade. The installation adhered to ESA, CSA, and local authority standards, with final commissioning incorporating thermal imaging, load-bank testing, and ESA inspections to verify system performance, reliability, and safety. Led by Manjinder Toor and Ron Bell, the project enhanced the facility’s electrical capacity, redundancy, and energy efficiency, strengthening the infrastructure supporting Rogers’ core network and data services.
